Frederick A. Meier Science Award Endowment Biology
The Donor has established this fund for the purpose of providing annual science awards to the undergraduate students who have majors in Chemistry and Biology in the School of Arts and Sciences. From the pool of students who meet the minimal academic qualifications (listed below), the awards will go to the students who have demonstrated a strong interest in Chemistry and Biology. The application should include information that shows strong interest in their major subjects. In the event of equally qualified applicants, the student with the greatest demonstrated financial need shall receive the award. This does not preclude splitting the award between two very deserving students. At least a junior (60 credits) standing with at least 20 credits of major courses completed at Salem State University (as defined on the chemistry or biology flow sheets); if a transfer student, then at least 15 credits of major courses completed at Salem State University (as defined on the chemistry or biology flow sheets); and minimum overall GPA of 2.5 as well as a GPA of 2.5 in major courses.
