James D. and Joanna M. Calef Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Donor has established this scholarship fund for the purpose of providing financial assistance to full-time Salem State University undergraduate or graduate students with an intended career in teaching. One or more scholarship awards for university related tuition and fees will be awarded annually. It would be available to freshman who had a B average in their last year of high school; and to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who had a 2.5 grade point average in the prior year. It would be for students who are pursuing a career in the field of teaching, if teaching is no longer offered at Salem State then it would be offered to nursing students, if nursing were no longer being offered it would go to business students; preference given to students who reside in Saugus, Lynn, or Chelsea; and demonstrated financial need.
