Our Opportunities
PLEASE NOTE: The application is open from December 1st through March 1st.
The majority of the information needed for your application is already loaded into the AcademicWorks system (Name, ID, GPA, Major, High School, etc.). Your primary tasks will be completing your student statement and requesting a reference from faculty member
High School Seniors: Your Information is also automatically loaded via your Admissions Application. High school students should request a reference from either a Teacher, Guidance Councillor, College Prep Counselor, or other High School Administrator.
Two Types of Opportunities with one primary application:
• Auto-match Scholarships: Once you complete your General Application, you will be automatically matched with scholarships for which you immediately qualify – no further action is required. (Qualifying does not guarantee you will receive a scholarship)
• Apply-To Scholarships. Some opportunities may have additional information requirements. When you have completed the General Application, to see if you could be eligible for one or more of the “apply to scholarships”, by clicking on the “Recommended for you” or the “Apply To” button.
If you fit any criteria for these Apply-To opportunities they will appear on the screen. Simply follow instructions, provide any additional information, and/or answer a few supplemental questions which that opportunity may be requesting. (Qualifying or matching criteria does not guarantee you will receive a scholarship)
• Browsing “All” Scholarships: Below is a list of all scholarship opportunities offered at Salem State University. This list shows all scholarships at Salem State, not scholarships for which you are receiving consideration. Auto-match scholarships will appear with “None” listed under the “Action” column – this means an additional application is not required for consideration. The “Deadline” column indicates the deadline to complete the application to receive consideration.
• Award Amount: The number and award amount of scholarships are for general information purposes only and should not be considered a guarantee of what you will receive if selected. Actual award amounts vary based on students’ individual eligibility, funds available, and other factors.
